Digital Transformation 3PL Warehouses

Digital Transformation for 3PL Warehouses

The term Digital Transformation has been around for several years. But only in the last couple of years has digital transformation become less of a buzz word and more of a game-changer.  What is digital transformation? And how does digital transformation for 3PL warehouses apply? How did the idea of Digital Transformation get started? The concept started over 30 years ago with organizations “computerizing” processes.  Then as computing power increased and costs dropped, companies began connecting their internal systems and trading partners to leverage data on their own activities.  Once […]

Managing Expectations

Now that it’s summertime, we can all relax by the pool and eat ice cream, right? For those who worked hard this spring, it’s a great reprieve. When Can We Go Live? (Part 1)

With every project I manage, I am asked: “When can we go live with this project?”  It is an obvious question, but can only be answered (responsibly!) after gathering some critical information.  I remember learning the 5 W’s at an early age, but when faced with complex projects in the world of 3PL, my recipe for success starts with these fundamental questions: Who is sponsoring the project?  Who will comprise the project team?  Who are the customers that will be impacted? These are the individuals that will ultimately benefit and […]
